Sholden Backyard Ultra 2.3
Sholden is the third event in the Kent Backyard Ultra Series, held on Saturday 10 April 2027 at Lillyroo’s Glamping, Sandwich Road, Deal, Kent CT14 0AT. The venue provides a weekend base with camping, glamping and campervan options, a bar, freshly cooked food, showers, toilets and space for crews and supporters.
The event uses the Backyard Ultra format on a simple, flat out and back route across coastal marshland. Ascent is approximately 8 metres per yard. Entries are capped at 120 runners. The minimum age is 18.
Event formats
- Backyard Ultra: 4.167 miles every hour until only one runner remains.
- 7 Hour Challenge: 4.167 miles every hour for up to seven hours. Limited to 10 places.
Base Camp is where each yard starts and finishes and includes professional chip timing, on-site medical cover, a clearly marked course and event team support. Free drinking water and boiling water are available; this is a cupless event so runners should bring their own bottle or cup.
Crew may support runners at Base Camp only and must not enter the course. Withdrawals must be reported to Race Control before leaving the venue. Weekend camping access from Friday is available only for those who have booked the appropriate camping, glamping or campervan option.
