Canterbury Trail Marathon and Half Marathon
The Canterbury Trail Marathon and Half Marathon takes place south of Canterbury with an event base at CCCU Sports Centre, Pilgrims Way, Canterbury CT1 1XS. It is an off road running event using scenic trails, rural footpaths and quiet country lanes through rolling farmland and historic pathways.
Distances offered
- Marathon: off road route requiring navigation and a mandatory kit list.
- Half Marathon: way marked route with a mandatory kit list recommended for downloaded maps.
The marathon includes four checkpoints and aid stations, located at The Ivy Barn in Littlebourne (first and fourth), Kingston Barn, and Lower Hardres Village Hall. The half marathon has two checkpoints and aid stations at The Ivy Barn in Littlebourne. Each station will provide toilets, food, hot and cold drinks, and facilities to top up water bottles or flasks.
Navigation and kit checks will take place at Event HQ. Runners in the marathon must download the route to a phone or watch and be able to navigate with limited way marking. The half marathon is way marked but downloaded route maps are recommended.
Event HQ facilities include showers, changing rooms, toilets, hot and cold food and drink, a chill out zone, free massages and a recovery area. Cut off times are 3.5 hours for the half marathon and 7 hours for the marathon. A GPX route will be shared nearer the event.
