The Whitstable & Herne Bay MoRun
The event offers chip timed runs and a children’s Mini Mo along the Whitstable and Herne Bay seafront. Distances include:
- 1.5 km Mini Mo with chip timing and prizes for winning boy and girl
- 5 km route turning at the 2.5 km marshalled point
- 10 km route continuing to a 5 km turn
- Half marathon includes a 1.1 km section then the 10 km out and back twice
The course is predominantly hard surface along the seafront with a grass village hub. The route is dog friendly and generally suitable for buggies, though some sections are narrow. Participants must follow signs and marshals and keep to the left unless otherwise directed.
Facilities and services at the event hub include marked and marshalled routes, water stations, finish line sweets, medical cover, toilets, limited bag storage under manned gazebos, and parking nearby with limited spaces. All races are chip timed and results show both gun time and net time; official placings use gun time. Finishers receive event medals and MoRunning headbands; there are spot prizes and awards for categories such as fastest Mo and best dressed. Merchandise is offered for purchase and the event supports Movember, raising awareness and funds for men’s health causes including prostate and testicular cancer, mental health, and suicide prevention.
