The Whitstable & Herne Bay MoRun
The event offers multiple race distances around Hampton Pier Recreation Ground in Herne Bay, CT6 8EJ. Distances include:
- 1.5 km Mini MoRun
- 5 km MoRun
- 10 km MoRun
- Half marathon
The course runs predominantly on hard surfaces along the seafront with a grass village hub. The route is dog friendly and generally suitable for buggy running, though some sections can be narrow. The 5 km course turns at the 2.5 km point and the 10 km turns at 5 km; the half marathon includes an initial 1.1 km section before repeating a 10 km out-and-back twice.
The event is chip timed and provides race medals, a MoRunning headband, water stations, finish line sweets and spot prizes such as awards for best dressed and fastest Mo. The course is marked and marshalled and medical cover is provided. Toilets are located in the event hub and bag storage is available near registration under manned gazebos, though space is limited.
Parking is available near the park but spaces are limited. Herne Bay railway station is the closest rail link and is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the event hub. The event supports Movember, raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
