The Whitstable & Herne Bay MoRun
The Whitstable & Herne Bay MoRun is a charity running event at Hampton Pier Recreation Ground, Herne Bay CT6 8EJ. The programme includes chip timed races over several distances and supports Movember, raising funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
The route runs along the seafront and is predominantly on hard surfaces, with a grass village hub. The course is dog friendly and generally suitable for buggies, though some sections are narrow. Runners should follow signs and marshals and keep left unless instructed otherwise. Turning points are marshalled: the 5k turns at 2.5k, the 10k turns at 5k, and the half marathon includes a 1.1k section before completing the 10k out and back twice.
Race services include full chip timing with both gun and net times, instant results visible in entrant profiles, race medals and MoRunning headbands, drinks and sweets at the finish, and spot prizes for categories such as best dressed and fastest Mo. Event facilities listed by the organiser include toilets at the event hub and limited bag storage under manned gazebos. Parking near the park is limited and there is a public car park on Swalecliffe Avenue. Herne Bay railway station is within walking distance of the venue.
