JPJ Memorial Turkey Trot
The JPJ Memorial Turkey Trot is a timed 1 mile run/walk held on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2026, at Moncus Park. The event takes place in memory of JeanPaul Judice and aims to continue his mission of spreading unconditional love and helping people in need.
Organizers partner with Catholic Charities of Acadiana to raise funds for St. Joseph’s Diner, a local nonprofit that serves meals to people experiencing hunger and food insecurity. The event is positioned as a community activity for families and friends to gather on Thanksgiving morning before their holiday plans.
The race is timed and awards are given to the top three male and female finishers; those top finishers receive a custom Turkey cookie medal made by Bouki's Baker. Strollers are welcome, with a request that stroller users start at the back of the pack to ensure the safety of other participants.
A 2026 race beanie is included with registration; to guarantee receiving the beanie, registration must be completed by November 1.
