About the race
The JPJ Memorial 1-mile Turkey Trot is a timed one-mile run/walk held on November 26, 2026 at Moncus Park in Lafayette, Louisiana (2913 Johnston Street, 70503). The event includes a timed race, awards for the top three male and female finishers, and community-focused elements that support St. Joseph Diner in partnership with Catholic Charities of Acadiana. Registration fees are listed at $25, $30, and $40 for race day registration.
Online registration will close Wednesday, November 25 at 6pm for timing purposes. Registrations completed by November 1 include a 2026 race beanie; all registrations include cinnamon rolls from Bouki’s Baker and refreshments from sponsors. Packet pick up is scheduled for Wednesday, November 25 from 1pm to 5pm at Corner Bar, 3103 Johnston Street, Lafayette LA 70503. Race day packet pick up will be available beginning at 7:30am at Moncus Park.
Race day parking is available at Reds with park entry via the gate. Strollers are welcome and are asked to start at the back of the field to help ensure safety for all participants. Awards will follow the race, with custom turkey cookie medals provided to top finishers by Bouki’s Baker. The event will occur rain or shine; organizers reserve the right to cancel in extreme circumstances, in which case entry fees will be used as a donation to St.
