JPJ Memorial 1-mile Turkey Trot, Moncus Park
The JPJ Memorial 1-mile Turkey Trot is a timed 1-mile run and walk held on Thanksgiving morning at Moncus Park in Lafayette, Louisiana. The event is presented as a memorial and includes chip timing and awards for the top three male and female finishers; top finishers receive a custom turkey cookie medal.
Registration information lists a base fee of $25, with higher fees noted for later registration periods. Registrants who register by November 1 are guaranteed a 2026 race beanie. Each registration also includes cinnamon rolls from Bouki’s Baker and refreshments provided by sponsors.
Packet pick up is scheduled for November 25 at Corner Bar, 3103 Johnston Street, Lafayette. Race day packet pick up and parking arrangements are available at Moncus Park, with additional parking at Reds. Strollers are welcome and are asked to start at the back of the field to ensure participant safety.
The event supports St. Joseph Diner through a partnership with Catholic Charities of Acadiana. The organizer states the event will proceed rain or shine and reserves the right to cancel in extreme circumstances; in such a cancellation no refunds will be issued and entry fees would be used as a donation to St. Joseph Diner.
