Camellia Crossing
Camellia Crossing, Acadiana's Gleaux Run is a nighttime running event held on Thanksgiving Eve that raises funds for Miles Perret Cancer Services. The event is an annual community fundraiser that includes a one mile walk and a 5K run along Camellia Boulevard.
Organizers provide gleaux gear and encourage participants to add creative glow elements. Starts are organized into six waves based on estimated finish time, and each participant's wave assignment is printed on their bib. The event concludes with an After Gleaux Party in River Ranch Town Square featuring live music, food and drinks, and an awards ceremony.
Each race participant receives a food and drink wristband; additional wristbands are available for purchase on the day of the event while supplies last. Food vendors include jambalaya and red beans and rice. Drink options listed include water, soft drinks, coffee, lemonade and beer available for a donation. Volunteer roles support setup, course assistance and cheering along the route.
Organizers expected over 4,500 participants for the 2026 edition and note that 2026 marks the 23rd annual Camellia Crossing.
