Joy in Action - United in Purpose
Joy in Action - United in Purpose is a run, walk, and cycle event that supports partner charities. Registrants join a partner team and may participate in one of the Main Events or in the Virtual Joy in Action Challenge.
Main Events are held in Steinbach, Brandon, and Selkirk. The route includes optional interactive Joy Stations. The virtual challenge allows participants to complete their run, walk, or cycle in their own community while remaining connected to the event.
Movement levels indicate individual commitment, but leaderboard rankings and prize eligibility are determined by fundraising impact. Fundraising leaders will be announced on October 1. A substantial portion of funds raised by each partner charity team will be allocated to that organization after the event, with the remaining funds supporting the Joy Smith Foundation’s work to prevent human trafficking through education and awareness across Canada.
All donations are processed by the Joy Smith Foundation, which issues official tax receipts in accordance with CRA guidelines. Participating charities and organizations are independent from one another unless otherwise stated. The event lists the Joy Smith Foundation as the event contact and identifies sponsors including Frontiers North Adventures Calm Air Southern Comfort Mechanical City Park Runners Shindico and Race Results.
