Joy in Action Charities United
Joy in Action Charities United is a run walk and cycle event organized by the Joy Smith Foundation. Participants join a partner charity team and take part in either one of the Main Events or the Virtual Joy in Action Challenge in their own community.
Main Events are held in Steinbach Brandon and Selkirk. The event page notes optional interactive Joy Stations along the routes. The virtual option allows participants to complete their run walk or cycle locally while remaining connected to the challenge.
Fundraising is team based. A substantial portion of funds raised by each partner charity team is allocated to that organization after the event while the remainder supports the Joy Smith Foundation’s work to prevent human trafficking through education and awareness across Canada. Movement levels indicate personal participation but leaderboard rankings and prize eligibility are determined by fundraising impact. Fundraising leaders will be announced on October 1.
All donations are processed by the Joy Smith Foundation and official tax receipts are issued by the Foundation in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency guidelines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
