Run fur Rescue - Fundraising event for the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter
Run fur Rescue is a fundraising event for the Winnipeg Pet Rescue Shelter held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 at Cargo Bar in Assiniboine Park. The shelter is a registered charity that does not receive government funding and relies on public support.
The program includes check-in and registration, a 5 km walk/run with pets, drinks at Cargo Bar included with registration, followed by closing remarks, a silent auction and a 50-50 draw. Registration includes an event kit with a Run fur Rescue T-shirt, bandana, collapsible water bowl, Run fur Rescue dog tag, a refreshment at Cargo Bar and a post-event snack for the participant and their "Paw-tner".
All four-legged participants must have up-to-date vaccinations, including rabies. Owners will be asked to indicate their pet's social comfort level with a colored ribbon: Green means comfortable visiting others, Yellow means needs time to warm up, and Red means please give me space.
