Jordan River Blitz Backyard
The Jordan River Blitz Backyard is held on the paved Jordan River trail system and uses a 4.167 mile loop that runs without road crossings. The race starts and finishes at East River Front Park, a site with abundant parking, a pavilion, playground, pickleball courts, grassy areas, and shade trees. The course is marked with pink flags, cones, and signs.
Participants choose to run for 4 hours, 8 hours, or 12 hours, completing the same loop once every hour. Each loop is timed and recorded; placement is determined first by distance completed and then by cumulative time on all completed laps. Live results show individual lap times and cumulative totals as the race progresses.
All runners who complete at least one loop receive a finisher medal. Runners who complete 12 loops receive a leather patch beanie recognizing the 50 mile achievement. First through third places for male and female divisions are determined by distance then cumulative time when distances are equal.
The finish area serves as a central aid and spectator zone with snacks and electrolyte drink provided, and Great Harvest Bread and pizza served at event conclusions for different durations. Packet pickup is available at a local running store and on race day. Capacity is capped to reduce trail congestion; the 4, 8, and 12 hour fields are each limited to 60 entrants.
