Bear Canyon Trail Run
Bear Canyon Trail Run is a trail racing event held October 10, 2026 in Sandy, Utah at 2860 Wasatch Blvd. The event offers multiple race options that use local trails, including Hidden Valley Park, the Trail of the Eagle, and the Cherry Canyon Logging Trail.
Race distances:
- 5K : approximately 400 feet of elevation gain
- 11 miles : one loop with about 4,100 feet of climb
- 20 miles : double loop with about 8,100 feet of climb
The event raises funds each year for an individual or family facing serious hardship. Since 2013 the community has raised more than $69,000 to support recipients; thirteen recipients have been supported to date. Fundraising is supported through registration fees, direct donations, and an auction. The auction typically opens about one week before race day and remains open through the event; donated items have included bike and performance packages and recovery equipment.
