Dimple Dell Half Marathon, Sandy UT
The Dimple Dell Half Marathon takes place October 10, 2026 and starts and finishes at Lone Peak Park, 10140 S 700 E, Sandy, UT. The event is a half marathon distance run on predominantly trail terrain through Dimple Dell canyon.
The course is largely wood chipped and single track with short paved sections, covering 13.0 miles with approximately +1,176 ft total elevation gain. The route includes bridges, a tunnel, the Rim Trail and a turnaround at Granite Park Aid Station. The course profile is rolling with several climbs and descents. Split segments are described as: Start to Aid 1 2.5 miles, Aid 1 to Aid 2 4 miles, Aid 2 to Aid 3 4 miles, and Aid 3 to Finish 2.5 miles.
Aid stations are stocked with Tailwind, water, Honey Stinger gels and waffles, fruit, and assorted extra snacks. Aid 1, Aid 2 and Aid 3 are noted to have bathroom facilities. Courses are marked with pink flags, ribbons and signs, and trail marshals will be positioned at major intersections. There is no cutoff time for the half marathon.
Event logistics include packet pickup at the Sandy Salt Lake Running Store prior to race day and race day pickup at the starting area. Registration categories include early, normal and late pricing with late registration opening September 10 and closing October 9 at 11:59 PM MT. The half marathon field is capped at 250 runners. Participants receive a race shirt and a locally made finisher medal. Free race photos, live results and a post race breakfast from Great Harvest Bread are provided.
