JH Memorial 5 Mile Trail Run
The event is a five-mile trail run held at Stoney Run County Park in Hebron, Indiana on May 25, 2026. The course will be marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns. An aid station providing water and Gatorade is located just past mile three; participants who need more fluids are advised to bring a personal hydration system.
Timing uses a manual system: runners receive a stick when they finish and must turn that stick in promptly to receive awards. There is no formal awards ceremony; overall male and female finishers and the top three in each age group receive medals upon returning their timing stick. All registered runners receive a water bottle. Post-race refreshments include water, Gatorade, and snacks.
Trail conditions may include mud, standing water, insects, and a definite pond crossing near the finish. A detour that avoids the pond is available and adds about 0.10 mile to the course. Participants are advised to bring extra clothes for after the run and consider insect repellent due to standing water on parts of the trails.
The event is organized as part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes non-pavement and pavement races in Northwest Indiana and stages events in parks across Lake, Porter, and LaPorte counties. The series states an inclusion policy welcoming participants of all gender identities and provides a land acknowledgement for the Miami, Shawnee, Illinois, and Lenape peoples.
