Jennie Hamilton Memorial 5 Mile Trail Run

The event is a 5 mile trail run held at Stoney Run County Park in Hebron, Indiana on May 25, 2026, moved to Memorial Day for 2026. The course will be marked with flags and arrow signs at major turns and includes natural trail conditions that may contain standing water, mud, insects, and a pond crossing near the finish.

Organizers use a manual timing method: finishers receive a timing stick that must be returned promptly to claim results and any medal awarded for overall or age group placing. All registrants receive a water bottle. There will be an aid station supplying water and Gatorade a little past mile three; participants who expect to need more fluids are advised to bring a personal hydration system. Post race refreshments will include water, Gatorade, and snacks.

A detour option is available to avoid the pond crossing; taking the detour adds approximately 0.10 miles to the route. Runners are advised to bring extra clothing to change into after the race and to consider insect repellent because some trail sections contain standing water.

The race is part of the Crazy Legs Race Series, which promotes non pavement and pavement races in Northwest Indiana and holds events in parks across Lake, Porter, and Laporte counties. The series states it welcomes participation regardless of sexual orientation, biological sex, gender identity, or gender expression, and allows transgender runners to register under the gender they identify with without documentation. The series also acknowledges that the land used for events was taken from the Miami, Shawnee, and Illinois Nations and others who lived there.
