Reason for the Season Run
Reason for the Season Run takes place on November 28, 2026, at the American Reformed Church, 1021 S. Halleck Street, DeMotte, Indiana. The event offers both running and walking options over a 5K distance.
- 5K Run
- 5K Walk
Participants pick up race packets on the morning of the event; the packet includes a festive long sleeve tech shirt. Entry for the 5K events is listed at $20. The event uses timing mats at the starting line and chip timing for finish results provided by T&H Timing. Course turns have directional signs and there is a water station on the course.
After the race there are post-race treats and an awards ceremony with age group awards. A free Kid's Run is held after the awards ceremony.
Proceeds from the 5K support the Backpack Program for students of KVSC. That program sends qualified students home with a backpack of nutritious, child friendly food on Fridays to help meet needs when other resources are not available.
