Indigenous Women and Girls Run : September 19, 2026, St. Vital Park, Winnipeg
The Manitoba Aboriginal Sports & Recreation Council (MASRC), in partnership with Immigration Partnership Winnipeg's Anti-Racism in Sport Campaign and Athletics Manitoba, will host the 6th Indigenous Women & Girls Run at St. Vital Park.
The event is open to everyone, including people who want to participate or volunteer. This edition introduces three event categories to accommodate different modes of participation.
- 5K walk, run, and roll
- 2K walk, run, and roll
- 5K relay
Registration closes on September 12, 2026. Published registration fees are: Family (up to 5 members) $50.00; Kids under 18 $5.00 with children under 10 participating free; Individual $25.00. Organizers note that sponsorships have allowed funds generated from the run to be directed to sports and recreation programming for Indigenous women and girls.
Volunteers are described as central to the event. The run is presented in partnership with community organizations and initiatives that support sport participation and reconciliation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
