Independence Day 5K - Myrtle Beach
The 17th Annual Independence Day event takes place July 4, 2026 at Grand Park Lake Courtyard on Farrow Parkway, at the corner of Nevers Street and Farrow Parkway in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The day includes a community 5K, a 1 mile fun run, and a kids dash.

- 1 Mile Uncle Sam's Fun Run/Walk (untimed)
- 50 Yards Stars and Stripes Kids' Dash (untimed, free with registration)
The 5K is a USATF certified course (SC21001BW). The 1 mile course circles Grand Park Lake and finishes on Farrow Parkway at the 5K finish line. There is no water stop on course. Animals, baby joggers, strollers, skate boards, roller blades, unauthorized bicycles, and other wheeled devices are not permitted on the race course and may result in disqualification.
Registration is available online only; the kids dash is free but requires online registration and a liability waiver. Packet pickup is scheduled in the days before the event at listed locations including Native Sons and at the Grand Park Lake courtyard. Parking is available in the Farrow Parking Garage next to Nacho Hippo and along side streets in Market Common. Portable restrooms are located in the courtyard.
Participant items and awards include shirts (while supplies last) and medals for the 5K and 1 Mile, race bibs for all events, a kids dash finisher gift, and awards for the 5K overall, masters, and age group places. No awards are given for the 1 Mile or the kids dash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
