17th Annual Surfside Beach Turkey Trot 5K
The Surfside Beach Turkey Trot is an annual running event held in Surfside Beach, South Carolina. The course offers views of the ocean at the start and leads participants along Ocean Blvd before continuing through the streets of local neighborhoods. The event provides a choice of two distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K Run/Walk)
- 50 Yards (Gobbler Kids' Dash)
Participation in the 3.1 Miles event is open to both runners and walkers. This course does not have water stops. The race uses gun timing for overall awards and chip timing for age group awards. Medals and race bibs are provided to all participants, and a participant shirt is available for the 5K while supplies last. Post-race water and snacks are available for those who finish.
The 50 Yards Gobbler Kids' Dash is a free, untimed event for children. Participants must register online to receive a race bib and a medal. There is an option to add a shirt during registration.
Strict safety regulations are in place for all courses. Animals, baby joggers, strollers, skateboards, rollerblades, and bicycles are prohibited. Exceptions are made for service animals and mobility aids as recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Registered participants with these aids must notify staff during bib pickup and start at the back of the pack. Free parking is located adjacent to Ocean Blvd and the Surfside Pier, and portable restrooms are available near the start and finish lines.
