8th Annual North Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk
The North Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot is an annual community running event held at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach. This event offers a competitive race and an untimed activity for younger participants. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes while completing the course.
The event features two distinct distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K) for runners and walkers.
- 50 Yards (Gobbler Kids' Dash) for children.
The course for the 5K race does not include water stops. To ensure safety, animals are not permitted on the race course, though service animals recognized by the ADA are allowed. Participants with service animals or recognized mobility aids are required to inform staff during bib pickup and start at the back of the race. Wheeled devices such as strollers, baby joggers, skateboards, and bicycles are prohibited for all participants.
Registered participants in the 5K receive a shirt, a medal, and a race bib. Participants in the Gobbler Kids' Dash receive a race bib and a finisher gift. Awards are presented for the 3.1 Miles distance to the top three overall male and female finishers, top masters, and the top three finishers in age groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and up. There are no awards for the kids' dash as it is an untimed event.
Registration is managed exclusively online. Parking is available at the Crooked Hammock parking lot and surrounding areas within Barefoot Landing. Restrooms are located near Taco Mundo and adjacent to the sand courts at Lulu's. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
