20th Annual Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk
The Myrtle Beach Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk takes place in the Market Common region of Myrtle Beach at the site of the former Myrtle Beach Air Force Base. This event includes the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K)
- 50 Yards (Gobbler Kids' Dash)
The 3.1 mile course is USATF certified and travels through the scenic Grand Park Lake and Market Common area. Participants may choose to run or walk the route. The event utilizes gun timing for overall awards and chip timing for age group awards. Categories for recognition include top three male and female finishers, overall masters, and various age groups ranging from 10 and under to 80 and up.
For safety and regulation purposes, animals, baby joggers, strollers, skateboards, roller blades, and bicycles are prohibited from the race course. Exceptions are made for service animals and mobility aids as recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act. There are no water stops provided along the course, although post-race water and snacks are available for participants.
The event provides participant medals and race bibs for both distances, while shirts are provided for 5K participants while supplies last. Registration is conducted exclusively online.
