1st Annual Diamond Shores Conway Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk
The inaugural Diamond Shores Conway Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk takes place in historic downtown Conway, South Carolina. The event offers participants the opportunity to traverse a course that winds through the downtown area and along the Conway Riverfront. The route includes segments on the Riverwalk, which may present navigation challenges for those using strollers.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K (3.1 miles) course for runners and walkers.
- 50 Yards Gobbler Wobbler Kids Run for children aged 10 and under.
The 5K event is a measured distance race. All registered 5K participants receive a custom race bib, a finisher medal, and a participant shirt while supplies last. The 5K race is timed, with awards provided for the top three overall male and female finishers, top three masters finishers, and the top three finishers in various age groups ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over.
The Gobbler Wobbler Kids Run is an untimed "dash" that begins at the Terrace, proceeds around the fountain, and returns to the start line. While participants receive a custom bib, no awards are issued for this distance.
The event permits both dogs and baby strollers. Registration is required for all participants, including those joining the free kids' dash. Amenities include public restrooms located at the City of Conway facility on Scarborough Street, and parking is available in downtown street spots and municipal lots.
