The course is a figure-8 loop system with three loop options:

- 4.7 miles (350 ft elevation gain/loss)
- 1.5 miles (100 ft elevation gain/loss) final loop only
Approximately 90% of the course is trail; about 10% (roughly 0.4 miles) is a mix of trail and closed paved roads. Trails are single-track and double-track, with over 70% described as double-track approximately 6 ft wide. The start and finish are centralized in the parking area next to the Lake Anna Visitor Center.
