Event
ICY-8 is scheduled for Saturday, Feb 7, 2026, at Lake Anna State Park in Spotsylvania, VA (6800 Lawyers Road). The event is the 18th annual running of the ICY-8 format and includes these distances:
- 8-Hour Adventure Trail Run
- Half Marathon+
- 8 Miler
The ICY-8 Half Marathon+ runs concurrently with the traditional ICY-8 event. Runners and hikers are welcome. Registration for the event closes on Mon, Feb 2 at 11:59 PM ET. The Half Marathon+ is organized on a figure-8 format in which participants complete the long loop, the short loop, and the mini loop from largest to smallest; Half Marathon+ participants have 6.0 hours to complete the distance. Participants may combine loops during the event to increase mileage.
Course
The course is looped with three defined loops: 8.0 miles (640 ft elevation gain/loss), 4.7 miles (350 ft), and 1.5 miles (100 ft, used as the final loop only). About 90% of the course is trail and roughly 10% is a mix of trail and closed paved roads. Trails are mostly single-track and double-track; over 70% of the trails are double-track, generally about 6 ft wide.
