ICY-8 Adventure Trail Run
The ICY-8 Adventure Trail Run is the 19th annual event held at Lake Anna State Park in Spotsylvania, VA on 06 FEB 2027. The event is limited to 150 participants and offers looped trail formats that allow participants to accumulate distance within set time limits.
The course is roughly 90% trail and about 10% a mix of trail and closed payment roads. Trail surfaces include single-track and double-track; over 70% of the route is double-track roughly 6 ft wide. Two primary loop lengths are available for use during the event: a long loop of 8.0 miles with about 640 ft of elevation change, and a short loop of 4.7 miles with about 350 ft of elevation change; a mini loop of 1.8 miles is also used for the Half Marathon+.
Participants must carry a hydration method and follow on-course rules, including reporting loop length to timekeepers and completing the final lap before the 8 hour limit. The 8-mile option requires hydration and approximately 200–300 calories carried for safety. The Half Marathon+ combines the long, short, and mini loops and has a six hour completion limit.
Race amenities include free park admission, a long sleeve technical shirt, event food with vegetarian and vegan options, a post-run meal, and awards or premiums for specific distances.
