Event Overview
The Hummelstown Hunger Run takes place in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania. The event supports the Hummelstown Food Pantry.
Participants can choose from a 5K run, a 5 Mile run, or a 5K walk. The courses go through the streets of Hummelstown. The event welcomes pets and strollers.
Registration and Fees
Several registration categories are available with different fees:
- 5K Run: $30 (standard rate), $20 (student rate)
- 5 Mile Run: $30 (standard rate), $20 (student rate)
- 5K Walk: $20
Online registration closes on May 2nd.
Participant Perks
Registered participants receive a gift bag that includes a race T-shirt. T-shirts are guaranteed for those registered by April 21st.
Participants and volunteers who bring a non-perishable food item for the collection bin are entered into a drawing for gift certificates from local sponsors. Lunch is provided, featuring a pulled pork sandwich and chips from Chick's Tavern and Rubber Soul Brewing Co. Sweet Dawgs Frozen Desserts offers free treats to participants and volunteers.
Awards and Recognition
Cash prizes and medals are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in both the 5K and 5 Mile runs ($75 for 1st, $50 for 2nd, $30 for 3rd).
Winner medals and prizes are also awarded to:
- The 1st and 2nd place male and female finishers in each age group.
- The first stroller finisher in both the 5K and 5 Mile events.
- The first dog finisher in both the 5K and 5 Mile events.
Location and Logistics
The event is held at Schaffner Park (Boro Park) at the corner of Poplar Avenue and Water Street. On-site restroom facilities and parking are available.
Packet pickup is available on the Friday before the event from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Schaffner Park Large Pavilion, and on the event day from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
