Sticks & Biscuits Thanksgiving Day 5K
This event in Palmyra, Pennsylvania is organized by the Palmyra Ice Hockey Club and supports the club while also benefiting local charities. The event offers an in-person 5K conducted in two separate waves and a kids fun run held on the adjoining turf field for children ages 3 to 12; the kids course is one mile. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot race in person or when the in-person field is full.
Online registration opens July 17 and remains available until November 6. Entries received by midnight on November 11 receive a long-sleeve tech shirt; shirts after that date are available for sale on a first come first serve basis. Packet pickup dates will be provided later. Pricing varies by date and pickup: 5K entry through November 1 is $35 and increases to $40 after that date; in-person packet pickup entries are $40. Kids fun run is $15 through November 3 and $20 after that date.
The event uses disposable chip timing with start and finish timing and posts online results during the race. The course is certified as a fast, flat course (USATF PA 14051WB). Post-race food and drink are provided. Awards include first overall male and female plus gender-specific age groups; runners must finish in 40 minutes or less to be eligible for the awards ceremony, though all finishers are timed and scored.
