Great Turkey Chase
The Great Turkey Chase is a community running event in Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, held to benefit ECHOS. A portion of registration fees and all online donations support ECHOS. The event is organized around Elizabethtown Brethren in Christ at 996 East High Street.
Distances:
- 5K loop through the streets of Elizabethtown
- 1 mile kids run with separate short and longer youth events
The 5K course passes the high school, Etown College and Bear Creek Elementary School, and finishes on the school pathway to the church parking lot. T-shirts are provided to 5K participants who register by November 5, and finishers receive medals. Age group awards are given by 10 year divisions, plus overall finisher awards.
The kids runs have no entry fee and are sponsored by The Tatted Toy Guys and LIV E-town; a t-shirt purchase option is available. Two contests run with the event: a family gathering contest that rewards the largest registered family group, and a costume contest for 5K participants judged on creativity and holiday spirit. Prize distribution and photo contest details are handled by the event.
Event logistics note limited parking at the church, specified overflow locations, and a prohibition on dogs on the race course. Registrations are nonrefundable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
