Event overview

The Hudson Valley Triathlon Club Summer Tri Series #3 takes place on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Kenneth L. Wilson State Park in Mount Tremper, NY. The event is USAT sanctioned and offers a Super Sprint triathlon and an AquaBike option (AquaBike is for individuals only; not available for relay teams). Relay entries are allowed for 2- or 3-person teams, with each member completing one or two legs. Paratriathletes are welcome. There are no cut-off times for the race. Awards are given by overall and age-group divisions, and points are awarded as part of the three-race series.

Distances:

  • 400 m swim
  • 12 mile bike
  • 2 mile run

Course and logistics

The swim is a 400 m triangular course in a mountain stream-fed lake with an on-shore start; wetsuits are legal and personal swim buoys are permitted (participants using a swim buoy are asked to start at the back). Certified lifeguard kayak support is provided. The 12-mile bike course uses all right-hand turns, is described as hilly, and is not closed to traffic; there is no aid station on the bike but one aid station is located in transition before the bike. The two-mile run is held entirely within the state park and has a stocked aid station in transition and at the turnaround offering Hammer Nutrition products and water.

Parking is available at the race site. Non–Empire Pass holders pay a $7 park entry fee. Dogs are not allowed in the park day-use area. There is no general refund policy; with advance notice a deferral to 2027 may be allowed per the event refund policy. Post-race items include race t-shirts (guaranteed only if registered more than one month before race day), finisher medals, beer supplied for those 21 and over, and a picnic provided by the organizer.
