Hudson Valley Triathlon Club Summer Tri Series #3
The Hudson Valley Triathlon Club Summer Tri Series #3 is a USAT sanctioned multisport event held at Kenneth L. Wilson State Park in Mount Tremper, New York. Located near Woodstock, the venue is approximately two hours north of New York City and one hour south of Albany. The event features a Super Sprint distance available for individuals and relay teams of two or three members.
The competition consists of the following distances and segments:
- 400m swim in a mountain stream-filled lake
- 12 mile bike on a hilly course with all right-hand turns
- 2 mile run on a bumpy surface entirely within the State Park
The swim phase follows a triangular course with an on-shore start. Wetsuits are permitted but not required, and participants may use personal swim buoys if they start at the back of the pack. Lifeguard support is provided via kayak. The bike course remains open to vehicular traffic, and there are no aid stations along the cycling route. For the run, an aid station is located at the transition area and at the turn-around point, providing water and nutrition products.
An AquaBike option is available for individual participants, excluding relay teams. Paratriathletes are also invited to participate. Following the race, the organizer provides a picnic and a beer garden for participants aged 21 and over. Finisher medals and race t-shirts are provided to those who finish, with t-shirts guaranteed for those registered at least one month in advance.
