Book It for the Olive Free Library 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community 5K walk/run held at the Ashokan Reservoir Promenade in Olivebridge, New York. The route is mostly flat with one uphill at the start, and much of the course is closed to traffic. A water stop will be available along the course.
The event benefits the Olive Free Library. There are overall awards, awards for the top three in standard 10-year age groups, and an award for the best costume. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes representing characters from books, movies, TV, comics, screen plays, or fairy tales. Families and children are welcome; kids under 10 may participate without an entry fee but will not receive a shirt.
Registration has a standard fee for pre-registered participants and a higher fee for those who register on the day of the event. Participants who register before August 19 will receive a T-shirt. Parking is provided at Brown's Station, also known as the Aerators, and parking spaces are limited.
Timing will be provided by a professional timing service. Complimentary refreshments and post-event snacks are provided by the Olive Free Library. Because this is a fundraising event, refunds will not be granted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
