About the race
The Book It for the Olive Free Library 5K Run/Walk is a scenic event held in Olivebridge, NY, benefiting the local library nestled in the Catskill Mountains. The mostly flat course, with one uphill at the start, takes place along the beautiful Ashokan Reservoir Promenade, much of which is closed to traffic. Participants are encouraged to wear costumes inspired by favorite characters from books, movies, or fairy tales, with awards for overall winners, age groups, and best costume.
Families and children under 10 are welcome to join for free (without a shirt). Amenities include a water stop, refreshments, and post-race snacks. Parking is limited, so carpooling is advised. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
