Climb It For Climate : The Running Kind
Climb It For Climate is a mountain trail event at Belleayre Resort in the Catskill Mountains. The event offers two course options and includes both runners and hikers. Donations collected through registration and a raffle support The Catskill Center.
- 25K around 16 miles and 5000+ ft of climbing and descending
- 8K on ski slopes at Belleayre Resort
The 25K course runs on difficult terrain and includes significant elevation change; a course map is available and participants are advised to download it before the event. The 8K course follows ski slopes on Belleayre and is presented as a more approachable option.
The event is organized as a zero carbon event. A registration fee includes a component to offset carbon emissions related to the event, and the organizer subsidizes offset costs. The event partners with a carbon offset project and collects additional monetary donations for The Catskill Center.
Additional community efforts include shoe donations for Sneakers 4 Good, with proceeds to The Catskill Center, and participation in the Mountain Madness series that combines several mountain running events.
