Climb It For Climate
Climb It For Climate takes place at Belleayre Resort in the Catskill Mountains on August 16, 2026. The event offers two distances and accepts both runners and hikers. Donations are collected through registration and a raffle to benefit The Catskill Center.
Distances:
- 25K - about 16 miles, 5000+ ft climbing on difficult terrain
- 8K - on ski slopes at Belleayre proper
The 25K route includes substantial climbing and descending on technical trails. Course maps are provided for both distances and organizers advise participants to review them before race day. The 8K follows ski slopes and is presented as a more approachable mountain entry distance.
This event is organized as a zero carbon event; a fee included in registration helps offset carbon emissions related to the race, and the promoter subsidizes remaining offset costs. The Running Kind partners with a carbon offset project and collects monetary donations for The Catskill Center. Gently worn and new shoes are accepted for donation to Sneakers 4 Good, with proceeds supporting the same nonprofit partner.
