About the Event
Climb It For Climate is a trail running event held at Belleayre Mountain in the Catskill Mountains of Highmount, New York. The mountain sits just under 3500 feet. Participants can choose between two distances: a 25K and an 8K. A hiking option with an early start is available for the 25K distance for those not wishing to be constrained by race cutoffs.
The event collects donations for The Catskill Center through registration and a raffle.
Schedule and Logistics
Bib pickup is from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM on race day. The schedule includes a hiker start for the 25K at 6:00 AM, the main 25K start, and an 8K start. The weekend prior features activities such as a free Friday night music event, a Saturday shakeout run, bib pickup, a pre-race dinner (ticket required), and a live podcast.
The event is described as a zero-carbon initiative, with a $1 registration fee added to offset personal travel emissions in partnership with Native Energy.
The Course
The courses are subject to change. The 25K course is currently planned to be roughly 15 miles with 5000 feet of elevation gain and descent. The 8K course is about 5 miles with 1400 feet of gain and descent. The event is cupless; participants must bring their own hydration pack. Water and electrolyte mix will be available at the start/finish and at aid stations on course. Some fuel will also be provided at aid stations.
There are cutoffs at various points on the 25K course. Dogs are not permitted on the course on race day.

Awards are given to the top male, female, and non-binary finishers. All finishers receive a race pin. A sponsor provides shoes for the top male, female, and non-binary finishers in the 25K. Event sponsors include HOKA, Ciele Athletics, Who Gives A Crap, and Best Day Brewing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
