ORC/Bernie Stahl Night of Miles : Dietz Memorial Stadium, Kingston NY
The Onteora Runners Club mile event takes place on the track at the renovated Dietz Memorial Stadium in uptown Kingston, NY. Races are run as seeded mile heats, grouped by each entrant's predicted finish time and arranged from fastest to slowest to keep runners in comparable competition and reduce lapping.
Fulton Automatic Timing is used and each participant receives an accurate finish time with lap split information. Entrants are asked to provide a predicted finish time and a seed time during registration.
The event typically includes multiple mile heats and short dash races on the infield turf for the youngest children. The children's dashes are free. There is a nuclear family team division for teams of three that must include at least one child and one parent.
Awards are given to the top overall man and woman and to the top three in each age group. Age group awards begin with under 13, then 14 to 19, and continue in ten year bands from 20-29 up to 80 and older.
Online entry fees are stated as $15 for adults and $5 for youth 18 and under. Day of entry fees are listed as $20 for adults and $5 for youth 18 and under.
