Event details

Hudson Valley Triathlon Club Summer Tri Series #2 takes place on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Kenneth L. Wilson State Park in Mount Tremper, NY. The event is USAT sanctioned and is the second race in a three-race series. Points are awarded at each race; season honors are given for places 1-5 by gender. Entry options listed include Sprint Triathlon and AquaBike. The published entry fee is $95.34 (includes a $6.34 fee). If not a New York State Empire Pass holder, there is a $7 park entry fee. Parking is described as abundant at the race site.

Course and race format

Distances for the Super Sprint format are:

  • 400 m swim
  • 12 mile bike
  • 2 mile run

The swim is a 400 m triangular course in a mountain stream-fed lake with an on-shore start. Wetsuits are legal but not required. Certified lifeguard kayak support is provided. Personal swim buoys are allowed if worn from the back of the pack. The bike course is 12 miles with all right-hand turns, hilly, and is not closed to traffic; a SAG vehicle is on course. There is no aid station on the bike; one aid station is located in transition before the bike. The two-mile run is inside the state park and has aid stations in transition and at the turnaround stocked with Hammer Nutrition products and water.

Entries, teams, awards and rules

Relay teams of two or three may divide the legs. AquaBike is offered to individuals only, not relays. Divisions and awards include top 3 overall M/F, 5-year age groups from 19&U to 80+, paratriathlete awards, AquaBike awards, and relay awards. Post-race items listed include race t-shirts (guaranteed for early registrants), finisher medals, beer for those 21+, and a picnic with supplied main items; participants may add potluck dishes. The race is held rain or shine. Dogs are not allowed in the park day-use area. There is no refund, though deferral to 2027 is possible with advance notice to the organizers. Participants must hold USAT membership or purchase one-day event coverage. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
