Hudson Valley Triathlon Club Summer Tri Series #2
The event is the second race in the Hudson Valley Triathlon Club Summer Tri Series, held at Kenneth L. Wilson State Park in Mount Tremper, NY. It is the 24th year of the HVTC series and this race is a USAT sanctioned Super Sprint triathlon that is part of a three-race points series.
The Super Sprint consists of these legs:
- 400m swim
- 12 mile bike
- 2 mile run
The swim is a 400 meter triangular course in a mountain stream filled lake with an on-shore start. Wetsuits are legal but not required. Personal swim buoys are permitted if worn from the back of the pack. Certified lifeguard kayak support will be on the water.
The bike is a hilly twelve mile course with all right-hand turns. A SAG vehicle is on course. There is no aid station on the bike route; one aid station is available in transition before the bike. The bike course is not closed to traffic.
The run is a bumpy two-mile route held entirely within the State Park with stocked aid stations in transition and at the turnaround offering Hammer Nutrition products and water.
Options and logistics: paratriathletes are welcome; an AquaBike division is offered to individual athletes only; relay teams of two or three may split the legs. There are no cut-off times. Parking is available at the race site and a park entry fee applies for non Empire Pass holders. Dogs are not allowed in the day use area. Post race items include t-shirts for early registrants, finisher medals, beer for those 21 and older, and a provided picnic. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
