Event Overview
The Hudson Valley Marathon is a multi-distance running event held at the Walkway Over the Hudson, an iconic landmark connecting Ulster and Dutchess counties in New York. The course takes participants across the historic bridge and through the scenic areas of Highland and Poughkeepsie. The event utilizes the Hudson Valley Rail Trail and the William R. Steinhaus Dutchess Rail Trail.
Course Details
The marathon and half marathon courses are USATF certified, and the marathon serves as a Boston Qualifier. The routes are paved and noted for being flat, making them suitable for runners looking for fast times. Participants on all courses cross the bridge to experience views of the Hudson Valley region.
Available Distances
The event offers five different race distances to accommodate various goals:
- Marathon: A 26.2-mile USATF certified course and Boston Qualifier.
- Half Marathon: A 13.1-mile USATF certified course (Certification NY23004DNB).
- 10k: A flat race conducted on paved wide trails.
- 5k: A 3.1-mile out-and-back course that crosses the bridge.
- 1 Mile: A distance intended for all ages and abilities.
Awards
