The 22nd Annual Family of New Paltz 5K Turkey Trot takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in New Paltz, NY. The event starts and finishes at Water Street Market, New Paltz, NY 12561. Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk - Age 1-12
- 5K Run/Walk - Age 13-64
- 5K Run/Walk - Age 65+
Format and awards
The course is USATF certified and will use chip timing for the start and finish. A separate Mashed Potato Fun Run is free for children 12 and under. Finish-line photos of individual runners will be available for upload at no cost. Age groups are in ten-year increments. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age group, with separate awards for males and females.
Organizers and purpose
The 2025 Turkey Trot is presented by Kniffen Homes and New Paltz Health & Nutrition. Proceeds support Family of New Paltz’s Food Pantry and Crisis Services. Family of New Paltz is a crisis intervention center operating since 1975 that offers a 24-hour hotline and text line, a food pantry, counseling, support groups and shelters for adults, adolescents and victims of domestic violence.
