Huckleberry Running Festival in Welches, OR
The Huckleberry Running Festival takes place Saturday, August 1, 2026 at Welches Middle School (24903 E Salmon River Rd) in Welches, Oregon. The event features multiple race distances with separate registration fees and deadlines.
Distances
- Half Marathon: same as 10K plus an extra six to seven miles in National Forest.
- 10K: south on Salmon River Rd, Fairway Ave, south on Welches Rd, back to start.
- 5K: out-and-back along fairways and neighborhoods of The Resort at the Mtn.
- 1K Kids Sasquatch Sprint: children's sprint; registration available through 7/31.
Course details note that the Half Marathon and 10K routes pass a golf course, the Cascade Range, the Salmon River, bridges and areas where deer may be seen. The Half Marathon extends deeper into National Forest and crosses the Salmon River twice. The 10K route includes moss-filled trees and woodsy homes. The 5K follows fairways and neighborhood streets and provides views of the surrounding hills.
Registration fees per person vary by distance and registration date. Half Marathon fees are $80 through 3/9 and $95 through 7/31. 10K fees are $70 through 3/9 and $85 through 7/31. 5K fees are $60 through 3/9 and $75 through 7/31.
