Hood to Coast Semper Fi & America's Fund Team
This team brings together Team Semper Fi service members who participate in The Fund's Recovery through Sport program and Community Athletes who fundraise on behalf of Semper Fi & America's Fund. The group participates in the Providence Hood To Coast Relay in Oregon, a multi-stage relay that takes 12-member teams across 199 miles from the top of Mount Hood to the Pacific Ocean and annually draws participants from over 40 countries.
Each Community Athlete on the team has a fundraising minimum of $3,000; the team has a stated fundraising target of $20,000. The fundraiser amount for each participant is intended to cover the costs for a member of Team Semper Fi to participate in the relay. As part of the team program, a personal fundraising page is created for each registrant and can be customized with pictures and a personal message.
Team logistics noted by the organizer include provision of vans to transport the team during the event and a Semper Fi & America's Fund running shirt for each member.
