Hopecam 5K
The Hopecam 5K takes place on Sunday, September 13, 2026 in Reston, Virginia at 1890 Preston White Drive, 20191. The event is offered as an in-person 5K and as a virtual 5K that can be completed anywhere.
Registration fees are tiered by age: $20 for participants 12 and under, and $40 for participants 13 and over. Online registration opens May 27, 2026 and remains available through race morning. All pre-registered participants receive a commemorative Hopecam race shirt and additional race swag. In-person participants pick up their race packets on race day, and virtual participants receive shipping of their packet.
The course is USATF certified and described as flat. Awards are planned for top overall male and female Adult finishers (16 and over), top male and female Youth finishers (15 and under), and top male and female finishers in the following age groups: 16-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
Teams are supported, with awards for the largest team and the team that raises the most money for Hopecam. Hopecam’s stated mission is to reduce social isolation for children with cancer by providing tablets, laptops, and internet technologies to connect children with school, doctors, and support systems at no cost to schools or families.
