Event overview
The event on September 11 at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA includes organized 5k and 10k road races. Distances offered:

A virtual race option is available. The event benefits the Purple Heart Foundation, supporting activities such as critical assistance grants, resources for TBI and PTS and mental health and suicide prevention, academic scholarships, and service dogs. Registered runners receive one glass of beer or wine from Bunnyman Brewing, a finisher medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed only for runners registered before September 1.
Course and race logistics
The course is paved with limited hills. The 5k is a single out-and-back; the 10k is two laps of the 5k. Water stations are placed along the courses: four for the 5k and eight for the 10k at approximate mile markers; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the Visitor Center. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered; t-shirt availability for race day registrants is not guaranteed. Race officials may delay, change, or cancel the event for weather and will notify registered participants.
Results and awards
The event uses live timing with results posted online and final results with series points posted the Monday after the race. Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall and to top finishers in age categories from 19 & under through 70+.
