Lake Needwood 10K XC 2026
The Lake Needwood 10K XC is a low-key cross country event at Needwood Lake in Derwood, Maryland. The main course covers approximately ten kilometres on trails with hills, mud, grass and other natural surfaces. A short youth run is also offered.
- 10 km cross country course on trails with hills, mud and grass.
- 1/4 mile young run for youth participants, untimed.
The event is part of a low-key race series. MCRRC members may participate without an additional race fee as long as they obtain a 2026 bib and timing chip; older chips may be exchanged and new members without an older chip are asked to provide a chip deposit. Non-members pay a registration fee of $22 for participants ages 18 and over and $11.60 for participants under 18; that price includes registration and processing fees. Online registration remains available up to the race start.
Youth runs use no timing chips and are free, but each youth must be registered by a parent or guardian before race day. Parents or guardians do not need to register to accompany a child.
Volunteers staff the event and volunteers are needed. A course map is available for the 10 km route. For non-members who cannot attend, registrations may be transferred to another low-key event; monetary refunds are not provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
