Lake Needwood 10K XC 2026 : Race overview and details
This is a cross country 10 km held at Needwood Lake in Derwood, Maryland on September 12, 2026. The course runs on trails and includes hills, mud, grass, and varied terrain; a course map is available.

- Youth runs: 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile, no timing chips
The event is part of a low-key race series and is free for MCRRC members. Members must sign up for a 2025 bib and chip so their bib and chip will be available at low-key races; older chips can be exchanged and new members or those without an older chip may be asked for a $5 chip deposit.
Non-members pay a registration fee for entry; the listed prices include processing fees. Online registration remains open until race start. Bib and chip pickup occurs on race morning near the start area and volunteers are available to assist.
Youth runs are free but require registration of the participant by a parent or guardian prior to race day. Parents or guardians do not need to register to accompany children and may run with them if needed. The event is staffed by volunteers and volunteers are needed. For non-members who cannot attend, registrations can be moved to another low-key event; monetary refunds are not provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
