Event Details

The Dashing to Summer's End 10k is scheduled for September 12, 2026. The start and finish point is Belle Haven Park in Alexandria, Virginia. Registration is available until race day, with an increase in fee on race morning.

The Course

The course takes place on the paved Mount Vernon Trail and offers views of the Potomac River. It features minimal elevation change. The 10k route follows an out-and-back format, starting along the same initial section as the 5k before continuing for an additional 1.55 miles and turning around a second time.

Participation and Amenities

Participants receive a finisher's coin, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall, and to the first and second place male and female finishers in several age categories. Walkers and participants with strollers are welcome. A virtual run option is also available.

Logistics and Support

There is no on-site race registration. Packet pickup occurs at the event. Four water stations are available on the 10k course, with Gatorade at some. Restrooms are located at a facility on site.
