2026 Holy Trail Running Festival

The Holy Trail Running Festival takes place in Suffolk, featuring a variety of distance options across different trail routes. The event is licensed by the Association of Running Clubs and is held under UK Athletics Rules. Participants can choose between three distinct distances that showcase the local landscape:

  • 50 Mile
  • 50 KM
  • Full Trail Marathon

The 50 mile event follows a circular route that begins and ends at Nicholas Everitt Park in Oulton Broad, with a total time limit of 15 hours. The 50 km option starts at Holton Village Hall and allows 10 hours for completion. The Full Trail Marathon starts at Walberswick Village Hall with an 8 hour time limit. All participants across all distances finish at Nicholas Everitt Park in Lowestoft.

The minimum age for the ultra distances is 20 years old, while the marathon is open to those 18 years and older. The event uses GPS tracking for all participants and provides first aid services along the course. Checkpoints located along the routes offer food and drink, and a light meal with hot drinks is provided at the finish line.

The finish area at Nicholas Everitt Park and the starting locations for the ultra races are located near railway stations. For the marathon, a pre-race bus transfer is available to transport participants from the finish area to the start line.

Registration includes a unique medal and prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in the Female and Male/Open categories. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
