About the race
The Hot to Trot event at Griffith Park, Crystal Springs Picnic Area - Pettigrew Field in Los Angeles (4730 Crystal Springs Dr, CA 90027) offers chip-timed races on July 17, 2027. The start and finish are on a grass area and the course is an out-and-back on a hard-packed dirt horse trail. The route is marked with cones and signs and is shared with pedestrians and equestrians; participants are asked to keep to the right and pass on the left.
Distances:
- 5K out-and-back route
- 10K two 5K loops
- 15K three 5K loops
- Half marathon three 4.36 mile loops
An aid station at the turnaround/start-finish provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and Gu gels. Chip timing, live results on finish, custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free race videos and photos tied to bibs, cinematic highlight reels, age group awards, trophies and achievement badges are included in registration. The event uses the A Better World Running / Race Ascend systems for results and app features, including Ascend Index ranking and Crew features. Group discounts for three or more are applied on Race Ascend. Race day registration accepts card, cash, Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal with listed fees for each distance. Free parking is available in Crystal Springs Picnic Area lots.
Transfers are allowed only through the organizer; refunds are not offered. A 3:15 time limit applies to the half marathon; alternative start arrangements are available by contacting the organizer. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
