Hickory Hammock 5K and Kids Fun Run
The Hickory Hammock 5K and Kids Fun Run takes place in the Hickory Hammock neighborhood at Johns Lake in Winter Garden, Florida. This event is specifically organized for the residents of the gated community and their guests. The course follows a route through the local neighborhood, with the start and finish lines located at the community park near the lake viewing pier.
Participants have the following options:
- 3.1 Miles: A 5K run or walk through the neighborhood streets.
- Kids Fun Run: A short non-competitive run held at the community park for children.
Runners and walkers in the 5K event receive a commemorative t-shirt, a swag bag, and a finisher medal. Trophies are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers. All participants in the Kids Fun Run receive an award. Following the athletic events, breakfast foods and drinks are provided for both participants and spectators.
The event serves as a fundraiser, with all proceeds donated to the Edgewood Children's Ranch. Sponsorship opportunities are also integrated into the event structure to support this cause.
