Hero Dash 5k
Hero Dash 5k is a charity 5K run and walk held on January 30, 2027 at Legacy Park, 395 E. Venice Ave, Venice, FL 34285. The course follows the Legacy Trail along Venice’s Intracoastal Waterfront and is located near the historic train depot.
The event includes two age divisions: ages 13 and older and ages 12 and younger; each division covers 3.1 Miles. Registration opens August 11, 2026 and closes January 16, 2027. Early pricing before January 16, 2027 is $35 for adults (13 and older) and $25 for children (12 and under); fees increase to $40 and $30 on January 17, 2027. Entry is limited to 300 runners.
Each participant receives a custom race bib, a short-sleeve race shirt, and a free downloadable finisher photo. The 5K will be chip timed by Florida Race Day LLC and finish line pictures will be available for download. Race awards are based on time.
Post-race activities listed by the organizer include music, awards, displays of emergency service vehicles and antique fire engines, vendors, food trucks, and a family fun zone. The event is hosted by Respect 1st Responders (R1R), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports first responders, military, and front-line workers and raises funds to stock Disaster Relief Kits for natural disasters and emergencies.
Approved parking zones are specified for the park. The marina and boat ramp parking is permit-only and not available for event parking; violators may be ticketed and towed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
