Turkey Trot for the Twig, Venice FL
Turkey Trot for the Twig is an in-person running event held in Venice, Florida on November 21, 2026. The event benefits children in the foster care system and supports the programs of The Twig Cares. Event participation is limited and the race has sold out for three years running.
The main event is a chip-timed 5K held at Legacy Park adjacent to the Historic Train Depot, following the route from the Venice Historic Train Depot up the Legacy Trail and back. Awards are given and described as suitable for all ages. A post-race celebration is part of the event.
All 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Race packet contents include a custom race bib and a short-sleeve race shirt; for a $5 upgrade participants may choose a long-sleeve shirt or a ladies' tank, subject to availability and possible changes in style or color. Shirt requests are guaranteed only if submitted by the shirt deadline of October 1. Packet pickup takes place at The Twig, 826 Pinebrook Rd., on the Thursday before the race from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Any shirts not picked up at the race may be available to trade; medals and uncollected packets will not be saved after the event.
