Event Overview
The Turkey Trot for the Twig takes place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. It is a charity event that benefits children in the foster care system and the programs of The Twig Cares.
Race Details
The event features a single chip-timed 5K race. The course starts at the Venice Historic Train Depot and runs up the Legacy Trail before returning. The event is located at Legacy Park, adjacent to the Historic Train Depot in Venice, Florida.
Participants receive a custom race bib and a short-sleeve race shirt. The shirt style and color may change and are subject to availability. An optional upgrade to a long-sleeve or ladies' tank style shirt is available for an additional fee. All finishers receive a custom finisher medal.
A shirt order deadline is set for October 1st; after this date, shirt availability and sizes are not guaranteed.
Registration and Logistics
Registration is limited and the event has sold out for four consecutive years. Packet pickup is scheduled for the Thursday before the race at The Twig (826 Pinebrook Rd., Venice, FL) from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
