Event overview
The Turkey Trot for the Twig is an in-person 5K road/trail run in Venice, FL (34285) held on Saturday, November 21, 2026. The race benefits children in the foster care system and the programs of The Twig Cares. The event is chip-timed and includes awards. The course runs from the Venice Historic Train Depot up the Legacy Trail and back. Registration is limited; the listed entry price is $35 and increases to $40 after the first 100 registrants. The event has sold out in recent years.
Logistics and race items
Packet pickup is at The Twig, 826 Pinebrook Rd., Venice, FL, on the Thursday before the race from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal and a race bib. A custom short-sleeve race shirt is provided; for a $5 upgrade entrants may choose a long-sleeve or ladies' tank, subject to availability. The shirt deadline is October 1; sizes or styles requested after that date are not guaranteed. Unclaimed medals will not be saved after the race, and unclaimed packets, shirts, or medals will be forfeited. Course and parking maps are provided as downloadable PDFs.
