Hen & Cock
Hen & Cock is a hill race in the Hills and Dales series, organised by Newcastle AC and based at Hen Car Park. The course runs on open mountain and covers a distance of 5 km with approximately 500 m of climb. The route is not marked.
Participants must be at least 15 years old before 1 January 2026. Entrants are required to bring full body cover; if conditions are poor, runners who fail the kit check at the finish may be disqualified. Race numbers must be attached to the chest for scanning; numbers on shorts may not scan and persistent offenders risk disqualification.
Entry is managed through SiEntries. Entries open 20 March 2026 and close 17 June 2026. Entry fees are listed as £12 for affiliated runners and £14 for unaffiliated runners. At the time of publication there were 22 participants entered.
