Hen & Cock
The Hen & Cock is a mountain run organized by Newcastle AC as part of the Hill & Dales League.
The course is 6 km long with a total climb of 450 meters. The terrain is described as rocky and located in County Down. The event difficulty is rated as easy, with a terrain rating of "easy," less than 200 meters of ascent, and under 6 kilometers. Race marking will only be provided at major junctions, and the use of GPS devices is not permitted.
Mandatory kit for all runners includes a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or equivalent. The specific kit to be carried during the race will be confirmed on the day based on conditions. Runners must have a means to carry all required items. Failure to present the mandatory kit may result in denial of entry or disqualification, with random checks possible.
