Flagstaff to Carlingford
This is a mountain running race from Flagstaff to Carlingford held in County Louth on Sunday 21st June 2026. The course is approximately 16.7 km with roughly 1,000 m of ascent. The route is not marked and GPS use is not allowed, so navigation and local route knowledge are important.
The event forms part of the NIMRA medium-distance programme and the IMRA Leinster Championships and is organised by Armagh AC. Entry details were not yet available at the time of publication. There are no entries on the day and the minimum age for participation is 17 years.
A free coach transfer to the start is provided for the first 70 registered athletes; a mandatory kit check will be carried out before boarding. The required Level C kit includes a waterproof jacket with hood and taped seams, full waterproof leg cover, hat or buff, gloves, whistle, charged mobile phone with emergency number stored, foil blanket or bivvy, means to carry at least 500 mL water, emergency food, and map and compass. The final kit to be carried may be adjusted on race day according to conditions.
The course includes multiple checkpoints on upland terrain, and the finish is on the lane into Carlingford main street. Prizegiving and refreshments follow at The Foy Centre, Dundalk Street, Carlingford. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
