AHG's Gobble Wobble 5K : Bossier City
The event is the 1st annual Gobble Wobble, featuring a 5K road race and a short fun run for children, organized to support American Heritage Girls Troop LA 0401. The venue is the boat launch at 3131 Arthur Teague Pkwy, at the foot of the Shreveport Barksdale Bridge in Bossier City, LA.
The event includes the following distances:
- 5K
- 0.5 miles (Fun Run, for ages 10 and under; this event is not timed)
The 5K serves as the primary fundraiser for the troop, providing funds for community service projects, equipment, materials, and troop activities. Medals are awarded for 1st and 2nd places for male and female participants in the following age categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and over.
Registration pricing follows tiered deadlines: early bird $20 through September 30, $25 from October 1 through October 31, $30 from November 1 through November 11, and $35 from November 12 through race day. Shirt sizes are not guaranteed for registrations after November 8; a limited number of extras will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Race packet pickup is available at Barksdale Community Church, 1465 Patricia Dr., Bossier City, on Friday, November 20 from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Race morning pickup at the race site begins at 6:30 am. Strollers, wagons, and baby joggers are allowed on course at a walk pace only; inline skates, roller skates, and runners with baby strollers are not permitted per RRCA regulation.
