Turkey Shuffle, Shreveport
The Turkey Shuffle is a running event at Stoner Avenue Skate Plaza in Shreveport, Louisiana. It offers several in person and virtual options on courses that may include pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths commonly found in parks and greenbelts. Aid stations will be available on course to provide water and assistance.
The event program includes multiple distances and formats:
- Kids Dash, about 50 meters, for children 10 and under
- 1 Mile run
- 5K run, 3.11 miles, chip timed
- 10K run, 6.22 miles, chip timed
- Volunteer then Run 5K option
- Virtual Run, 6.22 miles
All finishers receive a shirt and a finisher medal. The 5K and 10K include chip timing, overall trophies for top male and female finishers, masters recognition, and standard age group awards with pins for place finishers across many age bands. A costume contest with a trophy and a prize pack is part of the festivities; prizes include a certificate for two free future races, a gift card, and branded swag.
Volunteer roles range from course monitor and water station to finish line helper and mascot. Some volunteer positions earn a race shirt, souvenir medal, and a future race entry or a prepaid gift card. Packet pickup and volunteer check in procedures are provided by the organizer.
