The Hardin Valley Hawk Trot 5K is a Thanksgiving morning running event held at Hardin Valley Academy in Knoxville, TN (11345 Hardin Valley Rd, 37932). The event is open to local residents and others and accommodates runners and walkers on campus roads and parking areas.

The course follows campus roads, passes through parking lots, and includes some flat and light rolling hills before returning to finish in the high school football and track stadium. The junior one mile is capped at 100 runners. All one mile participants receive a finisher medal and a festive participation gift.
Packet pick up is available only on race morning at the football and track complex. Restrooms are available near the stadium and in academic buildings. Water is provided at the halfway point. Participants are asked to plan on parking in front of the high school to avoid disrupting the course.
Awards are presented from the packet pick up area after the race. Awards include top three overall per gender, top three per gender in 10-year age groups, and top master runner over 40 per gender with no double awards. T-shirt orders close four days before race day. Registration fees increase starting early November.
