5K Celebration
The Girls on the Run Greater Knoxville 5K is an end-of-season celebratory event that gives program participants a tangible sense of accomplishment. The event is described as inclusive of participants of all abilities and awards a commemorative medal to every registered participant who completes the course.
The 5K is scheduled for Saturday, November 14, 2026 (TBC) and is planned to take place at Victor Ashe Park, 4901 Bradshaw Road, Knoxville, TN 37912. The course length is 3.1 miles. The event is presented as a fun, non-competitive celebration; the fastest participants may complete the course in about 25 minutes while most finish in about 30 to 50 minutes. Participants are encouraged to walk, roll, push, run or skip at their own pace.
Registration prices listed for non-program participants are: Early Bird online: $20 adult, $10 youth (17 and under) General online: $25 adult, $15 youth (17 and under) Race day in person: $30 adult, $20 youth (17 and under) Program participants and coaches are already registered and do not need to register. Registration forms include liability waivers. For non-program participants prices increase two weeks before the event and on race day.
Safety and accessibility measures include required race bibs, a running buddy system, course monitoring and head counts, a safety plan with trained staff and volunteers, and designated accessible parking. Strollers and well behaved dogs on leash are permitted with guidance to start toward the back of the field. The event may feature merchandise, face painting, water stations and other family activities. Local and national sponsors support the council and the 5K.
