About the race
The Secret City Half Marathon and 5K is a multi-event race weekend held in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, with events running from November 14 to November 28, 2026. The race hub and in-person courses are based at the Melton Lake Park peninsula, 697 Melton Lake Drive, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.

The half marathon course starts at the Melton Lake Park peninsula and follows the water's edge of Melton Lake before passing an operational quarry, a tree-lined private road, and sections through Oak Ridge, finishing back at the peninsula. The half marathon course is USATF certified, certification number TN15066MS.
The 5K course also starts and finishes at the peninsula, follows the lake edge to Elza Gate Park, then returns along the walking trail to the peninsula. The 5K course is USATF certified, certification number TN15077MS.
Packet pickup is available the Thursday before the event at the Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce, 1400 Oak Ridge Turnpike, and there is packet pickup at the race site on race day. Virtual participants may complete their runs November 14–28, and virtual race swag is mailed after November 28. The event does not offer refunds; registrations may be deferred up to race morning.
The event fundraiser supports the Keystone Adult Day Program; donations have raised $1,257 of a $3,000 goal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
