Event Overview
The US Road Running event in Richmond, Kentucky, takes place at White Hall State Historic Site. This athletic gathering offers three distinct distances for participants to choose from:
- 5K
- 10K
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
The event is part of the US Road Running Race Series, but membership is not required to participate. All participants must complete their registration online through RunSignup, as there is no registration available on the day of the race at the venue. Packet pickup commences 30 minutes before the start and concludes 10 minutes prior to the beginning of the races.
Course Details
The races are conducted on paved out-and-back routes. The layout varies slightly depending on the chosen distance:
The 5K and 10K courses utilize a 0.78-mile section, creating a 1.56-mile out-and-back loop. Runners in the 5K complete this loop twice, while 10K participants complete it four times. The Half Marathon utilizes a 1.09-mile section, resulting in a 2.18-mile out-and-back loop that must be completed six times. There is a total course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes for all distances.
Participation and Awards
Every finisher receives a themed medal upon completing their respective distance. While not mandatory, participants are encouraged to wear costumes, and a group photo is taken at the start.
