Course formats and repeats are described as out-and-back segments. For the shorter races an out-and-back segment measures 0.78 miles one way (1.56 miles roundtrip); the 5K completes that out-and-back twice and the 10K four times. The half marathon uses a 1.09 mile one-way segment (2.18 miles roundtrip) and repeats that out-and-back six times.
