Event Overview
The Viking running event offers three distances: a 5K, a 10K, and a Half Marathon. All events start together. The races take place at Ed Austin Regional Park in Jacksonville, Florida. The running surface is asphalt or concrete, with approximately half of the course shaded.
Course Details
All courses follow an out-and-back format on the same route. The 5K distance requires completing the loop twice. The 10K requires completing the loop four times. The Half Marathon requires completing the loop six times.
Race Logistics
Participants must register online via RunSignup; there is no on-site registration. Packet pickup begins 30 minutes before the start time and closes 10 minutes before the race begins. The event setup is located next to the skatepark within the park. Overflow parking is available near the soccer fields.
Additional Information
All finishers receive a themed medal. While not required, costumes are encouraged, and a best costume award will be presented at the beginning of the race. The event has a course time limit of 3 hours and 30 minutes. This race contributes points to the US Road Running Race Series.
