Event Overview
The Leprechaun 5k Run & Walk is a community event held at the Northeast Florida Fairgrounds in Callahan, FL. The event takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Proceeds benefit the Community Press Foundation, supporting local journalism, youth media scholarships, and civic engagement programs, as well as Micah's Place in Nassau County. The event has a fundraising goal of $15,000 for the 2025-2026 school year scholarships and community newspaper. Participation is limited to the first 1,500 registrants.
Registration and Logistics
Registration fees are structured as follows:
- Early entry: $35 (through February 15)
- Late entry: $40 (after February 15)
- Race day registration: $45
Packet pickup is available on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the YMCA Wildlight in Yulee, FL. There is also packet pickup on the event day from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the Northeast Florida Fairgrounds. Parking is available at the fairgrounds, and participants are asked to arrive 30-45 minutes prior for check-in.
Course and Awards
The event is a chip-timed 5 km run and walk. It is a gun start, and awards are based on gun time. All participants receive a race medal. Awards are also given to the top male and top female finishers in 10-year age groups: 9 and under, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. All participants 21 and over receive a green beer at the finish line.
Additional Information
Saint Patrick’s Day-themed costumes are encouraged. The event will be promoted across the local area, including Callahan, Hilliard, Yulee, Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, and North Jacksonville. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
