Leprechaun 5K Run
The Leprechaun 5K Run & Walk is scheduled for Saturday, March 14, 2026 in Callahan, Florida at the Northeast Florida Fairgrounds. The event is presented by the Community Press Foundation and raises funds for local journalism, youth media scholarships, and civic engagement programs.
Proceeds support the Community Press Foundation and a stated fundraising goal of $15,000 for the 2025–2026 school year scholarships and community newspaper. Participation is limited to the first 1,500 registrants. Registration fees are Early Entry $35 through February 15, Late Entry $40 after February 15, and Race Day Registration $45.
Packet pickup is available Friday, March 6, 2026 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at YMCA Wildlight, 251 Breezeway St, Yulee, FL 32097. Day of event packet pickup will be held at the Northeast Florida Fairgrounds and organizers advise arriving 30 to 45 minutes prior for check-in. The event site offers parking on the day of the race.
The 5K will be chip timed and will use a gun start; awards are based on gun time. Race medals will be given to all participants. Awards and gift cards will be given to the top male and top female finishers in 10 year age groups: 9 and under, 10 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over. Participants age 21 and over will receive green beer at the finish line. The event promotion reach includes 15,000 businesses and households across Callahan, Hilliard, Yulee, Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, and North Jacksonville through print and digital channels.
